cant believe some useless oxygen theifs were able to be at one of his
lectures even though they propably didnt understand a thing he was saying.?

  2. elevengiant says:

so the diamond would jump out as a whole or in fragments… if electrons
can move freely to explore the universe, do they come back, then would the
diamond weigh less? also why would the whole atom follow the electrons and
    jump out of the box??

  3. The Naked Skier says:

    Brian Cox is awesome?

  4. Joss Hogan says:

    Brain is such a dude?

  5. Anna Link says:

Loved this lecture. To me, as a lay person, he made the subject
fascinating. My background is in the arts, and though I have 2 advanced
degrees, when it comes to science, most particularly physics and math I am
just about illiterate. I pretty much understood what he was presenting,
which to me, means that he’s a good teacher and excellent communicator. If
the objective is to popularize science this program succeeded. This is a
very important public service with political ramifications and if the
scientists don’t do it, then who will? Stanford, Yale, MIT offer free
science courses/lectures on the Internet and some of the Profs. are very
gifted transmitters of this complex information. I guess that’s why they’re
the ones on the Internet. The better the the teacher, the plainer the
language, the more engaging the subject and the more fun it is to learn.
Thank you Professor, thank you BBC. Carry on.

    Where is his accent from??

MR. COX IS AN ACTOR, A MEDIA PERFORMER. HE IS THE OFFICIAL APPOINTED
SPOKESMAN FOR QUANTUM PHYSICS AT CERN, ESPECIALLY WHEN FUNDING ISSUES ARE
DUE. HE HASN’T MADE AN ORIGINAL CONTRIBUTION TO THAT DISCIPLINE SINCE I’VE
KNOWN OF HIM, WHICH IS SEVERAL YEARS BEFORE HE GOT HIRED BY CERN TO DO
THEIR PR. HE IS AT HIS BEST WHEN CERN NEEDS EMERGENCY FUNDING, WHICH IS
PRACTICALLY EVERY OTHER WEEK BECAUSE IT IS BASICALLY A FINANCIAL BLACK
HOLE. THEN HIS HANDLERS FIND HIM AN AUDIENCE, PUT SOME MAKE-UP ON HIS FACE,
WHICH HE COUPLES WITH A WINSOME BOYISH SMILE, SO THAT WE WON’T NOTICE THAT
HE IS RECITING TO US ALL THE CATECHISMS AND UNEXAMINED FIXED IDEAS OF
QUANTUM MECHANICS AS THOUGH THEY ARE WELL–ESTABLISHED SCIENTIFIC AXIOMS.
EINSTEIN WANTED NOTHING TO DO WITH QUANTUM PHYSICS BECAUSE HE REALIZED THAT
SEARCHING FOR THE TINIEST PARTICLE IN THE UNIVERSE IS A POINTLESS ACTIVITY
    WHEN THAT UNIVERSE IS INFINITE.?

When i say James May i simply jumped out of chair.. !! <3?

  9. Bhavana Umesh says:

    My God!!!!!…
Prof Brian Cox can speak about The Universe his whole life, not alone, but
with people like me constantly listening to him.
Anyway if he is ready to do that, I am in.
    Very interesting vedio..
A must watch for physics lovers.

  10. JLdaydream says:

I’ve failed every physics test in school so far this year, but I suddenly
feel very smug because I understand everything Prof. Brian is saying when
people 3 times my age are having such a hard time with it. …I’m sorry ?

  11. biffskin says:

    May goes brrrm
    Ross goes wabbits
    Sarah goes Eh?
What does the Cox say? ?

  12. jigshoop jig-shoop says:

WHAT MR. COX FORGETS TO TELL US IS THAT THE QUANTUM WORLD IS AN
ARTIFICIALLY DEFINED WORLD. ITS EASY TO BUILD SUCH A WORLD. ALL YOU DO IS
TAKE ALL THE POLRIZED CONJUGATES OF THE FIXED IDEAS YOU DON’T WANT TO DEAL
WITH IN THE MACRO-WORLD, DUMP THEM INTO THE QUANTUM WORLD, AND THEN DEVELOP
MATHEMATICAL FORMULAS TO ESTABLISH THE BEHAVIOR OF OBJECTS IN THAT WORLD.
THE PROBLEM IS THAT MATHEMATICAL FORULAS DO NOT ESTABLISH THE BEHAVIOR OF
OBJECTS IN ANY WORLD. THEY ONLY DESCRIBE THE BEHAVIOR OF THOSE OBJECTS AS
IT IS DICTATED TO THEM BY THE FIXED IDEAS EMBEDDED IN THE STRUCTURE OF THAT
WORLD. DO YOU REALLY THINK IT IS TRUE, AS THE NAZI WERNER HEISENBERG
CLAIMED, THAT I CANNOT CALCULATE THE SPEED OF AN OBJECT AND ITS POSITION AT
THE SAME TIME? THIS MEANS THAT EVEN SOMETHING SO SIMPLE AS A RADAR GUN
PROVES QUANTUM PHYSICS WRONG. WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN IF I TOLD THE
JUDGE THAT MY SPEEDING TICKET SHOULD BE THROWN OUT BECAUSE THE HEISENBERG
PROVED THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CALCULATE THE SPEED OF AN OBJECT AND ITS
POSITION AT THE SAME TIME? UNTIL SOME WAG COMES UP WITH A FORMULA TO
DETERMINE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE MACRO-WORLD AND THE QUANTUM WORLD,
THE LATTER IS JUST AN EPISTEMOLOGICAL FANTASY OF MODERN-DAY PHYSICISTS. TO
GIVE YOU ANOTHER EXAMPLE: QUANTUM PHYSICS TELLS ME THAT THERE ARE NO
CAUSES, ONLY STATISTICAL PROBABILITIES. IF I WANT CAUSES, GO CHECK WITH MY
PASTOR. IN TRUTH HOWEVER, THERE ARE CAUSES ALL OVER THE PLACE IN QUANTUM
PHYSICS. HYDROGEN BOMBS, FOR EXAMPLE, ARE TRIGGERED OFF BY A CONTROLLED
CHAIN OF NUCLEAR FISSION IN ATOM BOMBS COMING INTO CONTACT WITH DEFINED
CHAINS OF FISSIONABLE HYDROGEN ATOMS. IF THIS AIN’T A CAUSE, WHAT IS?
QUANTUM PHYSICS IS A JOKE! OH WELL, IT DOES KEEP A LOT OF PHYSICISTS FROM
WORKING AT CHECK-OUT COUNTERS IN DRUG STORES… ?
